MOJO327

I've been working on the pieces for Valentine's cards...so I was pleased to see this week's sketch! Love starting a New Year project with a MOJO MONDAY sketch!

I wanted to combine my January SOTM, Cross-Stitch Wishes, with some fancy Artiste die-cuts...and I think it turned out okay. Using up some of my FAV Chantilly papers. (Still available through January)

My awesome DH/Santa got me a 12" Cricut E2,  so now I can cut smaller than 1", and also cut shapes in 1/4" increments.

Sunday night I started cutting pieces while DH was watching tv.

I used the heart shapes from page 51 at 1" and 1-1/4". Then cut borders at 3/4", which makes them just a bit shorter than 6", but I only used a small piece.

So when I checked the new Mojo sketch, I was ready to go and started pulling it together. I think I would layer my patterned papers with solids next time, though.

I added a stamped Valentine sentiment from the Holiday Tags set, and though you can't see it, the Love stamp is heat-embossed with detailed clear embossing powder. It gives it a bit of dimension. As always I added some ribbon, and a little glitter glue. As I continue to look at it,  it's starting to look too busy. Maybe it will grow on me.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great week!

SWEET Card!

The other week, I posted my work desk picture with assorted fruits and some pretty pink Chantilly paper spread out across it. I couldn't show the card I was planning because I was going to submit it to Take Ten magazine. But before I put it in the mail I took another look at it and realized that it wasn't quite good enough. I had some stray embossing powder all over the front that I didn't catch.
I used the design challenge that was in the Summer 2013 Take Ten magazine.
The main layer is the sweetest Chantilly pink. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from the CTMH Sweet Life set right on that layer.
I used the Cricut Artiste cartridge to cut the CTMH cotton candy pink border, and fussy-cut one edge of a Buttercup strip to layer underneath it. On the other edge I used a petite scallop border punch.
I had colored the fruits from the Sweet Life set several days prior and I used a round punch to frame the cherries and inked the edges with cotton candy pink. The ruby cardstock shape was also cut on my Cricut using the Artiste cartridge. A couple of coordinating ribbons - one for a border and one for a bow - finished the card.

MOJO 301

MOJO 301. A great sketch for a Monday!

I haven't used ovals in a while, so this is a nice change! The Perfect Fit Frames 2 set has a perfect scalloped oval, and the pattern matched some of the Chantilly paper so that made my paper choice very easy.

The yellow strip of paper is dry embossed with a leaf embossing folder.

I die cut the frame using my Cricut Artiste cartridge and stamped it with buttercup ink. Then I found an old Fiskars scalloped oval punch set and punched the Chantilly paper layer and the smaller white layer, which I inked around the edges with Cotton Candy, and stamped the sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Chantilly Workshop on the Go. I added the CTMH hollyhock zipper lace, a Chantilly fabric button, and some sheer yellow ribbon, cuz I gotta have a bow :)

Thanks for looking & have a great Monday!

Cheery Mojo300

The other day I posted that sometimes I take a long time to make cards. Well, this one fought me for two and a half hours, even after I gave up and decided to use a Mojo sketch.

I paired the July stamp of the month (shown on another tab), Sweet Life with Chantilly papers...and the resulting card might have been worth the wait :)
It's pretty sweet :)

I dry embossed the Ruby background then layered Chantilly papers on top of whisper card stock. The ruby and cotton candy die cut circles were made on my Cricut using the Artiste cartridge. I actually cut those last Wednesday, as shown on the WOYWW#213 post.

It's been so quiet because I took a card break due to the 4th of July holiday. We watched my husband's great grandson who is 11 months old, spent some time with some friends and saw my sister and her family.

So it was a very good holiday, ending on a fun, crafting evening!

Here's the MOJO300 Sketch for reference:

A Flowering Thanks

It's getting close to that time -- YUP!  When the June Stamp of the Month is NO LONGER AVAILABLE...

For this little dreamy card I stamped the floral garden from the JUNE SOTM, A Flowering Bunch, onto a piece of White Daisy, and edge punched the corners.  I used watercolor pencils on the flowers. It's matted on buttercup cardstock, which is also the card base.

The mat is also heat-embossed, using an embossing marker around the edges.

A sweet Chantilly background perfectly sets this off.  And the sentiment is heat-embossed right on the background paper.

I finished it with a sheer ribbon wrapped and tied in a bow!

June SOTM

A FLOWERING BUNCH!

Finally....I had some moments to make a new card with the June Stamp of the Month, A Flowering Bunch!  I had used the Thanks sentiment as a preview in May, so I think it's card #3. YAY!

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #297...but I try not to focus on the samples, and modify it for myself.  Instead, apparently I used the same elements EVERYONE did.  A flower for the central motif.

But, it's cute as a button (which is a Chantilly fabric covered button, by the way), so I kinda like it :).

The Mojo297 Sketch is:

I adore the Chantilly paper...so it's really no surprise! I even used the Zip Strip off the Chantilly paper for the sentiment.

The Flower is stamped in Cotton Candy Exclusive Ink on a die cut which was cut to size using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge.  I added some glitter gel to the flower to make it pop!

Thanks for looking!

June SOTM

This month's Stamp of the Month is "A Flowering Bunch".

When you place an order of $50 or more in Close To My Heart products, you qualify for the special Stamp of the Month pricing at $5.

I gave a little preview of one of the sentiments this past week, here is my first card using one of the flowers.

I stamped the flower with Pear ink and colored it in, then added glitter glue, and layered it with Pear cardstock. The card layers are in Chantilly and I used the Chantilly Complements for the leaf and flower embellishment.  I border-punched some Cotton Candy cardstock for the right side of the card.

The sentiment is from the Perfect Fit-Birthday stamp set, stamped in Cotton Candy and punched with a 1" circle punch.

The fun has just begun with A Flowering Bunch! Stay tuned!

Cardmaking Chantilly - 2

More of our beautiful Chantilly paper cards!
This one was a team effort!

We used the Pink Glossy Solid Dream Pop paper for the pointed border (Martha Stewart punch). The sentiment is from the CTMH My Acrylix Perfect Fit-Birthday Set, stamped in Cotton Candy and punched out using a 1 1/4 circle punch, layered with a 1 1/2 circle punch on the Chantilly duo paper, using the green patterned side.

The Chantilly Workshop includes some pink glitter gems that add just the right sparkly bling to this card!

Some ruched ribbon and a sheer ribbon bow are the finishing touches!

Cardmaking Day....

Had a great day making cards with my friends. We made some beautiful Chantilly paper cards!

This one by SC, uses a border punch on the right edge and a strip of CTMH Cotton Candy cardstock wrapped with a sheer pink ribbon.  The sentiment is from the CTMH My Acrylix Set - Card Chatter - Birthday, stamped in Cotton Candy Exclusive Ink and cut into a pennant. We didn't layer under the pink cardstock strip, so had to cut an angle and butt the sentiment strip up against the strip. It still worked beautifully!

More April Stamp of the Month Cards

The Chantilly paper with the sun from  the April Stamp of the Month make a sunshiny card! Fun for a gray day! The sentiment is from the Cricut Artiste Collection Birthday stamp set, and the circle inside the sun is from the Artiste Collection Kudos stamp set.  It's so easy when everything goes together!

Order your April Stamp of the Month now! It's only $5 with a $50 order! There is a 5-day grace period into May before its no longer available :)

Card #2 uses the April Stamp of the Month sun with a sentiment from the CTMH A Splendid Day set. I embossed the sun with some yellow embossing powder for a little extra kick!

Another Chantilly Card

I think I just love the pink floral paper in the Chantilly Paper Duo's... The sentiment is from the Workshop on the Go...this one is soooo cute!

Busy Sunday Afternoon!

After some needed housework and a trip to the grocery I made it to my crafting table. These two cards with Chantilly paper use the little bird in the April 2013 stamp of the month. I cut the shape out using the CTMH exclusive Artiste cartridge, and then stamped the bird on the cut out shape. The Chantilly Workshop on the Go includes some cute cardboard shapes which I used on card 1.  Card 2 uses the sentiment and the bird from the stamp of the month, and the color wheel stamps from the Chantilly WOTG.

Springtime Card

Chantilly Workshop on the Go Card#1
I made this card using the Chantilly Workshop on the Go package! Isn't it adorable?
I've been stamping and making cards since 1999....but I LOVE THIS CARD...it is the first one I've made using ONLY CTMH, ever.  The Chantilly paper is so-o-o-o-o-o Springy and fun!

So, on this rainy Saturday, I only made 1 card, but I did some organizing, placed my first consultant order, and learned more about blogging and posting to my CTMH Facebook page.
and totally unrelated...I also picked up some items for my niece's Paris dollhouse...that was fun, too.  So, all in all, a productive day.
